ForWindowsXP:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitort oanelectricaloutlet.
3.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
4.ChangethedisplayoutputlocationbypressingFn+F7.Thisallowsyoutoswitchbetweenviewing
outputontheexternaldisplay,thecomput erdisplay,andbothdisplays.
Notes:
•Donotchangethedisplayoutputlocationwhileamovingpictureisbeingdrawn--forexample,while
playingamovieoragame,orviewingabusinesspresentation.Closetheapplicationbeforechangingthe
displayoutputlocation,orchangethedisplaymodebeforeyouopenanMPEGletoplay .
•IfyouareattachinganexternalmonitorthatsupportsonlyVGAmode(640x480resolution),donotview
outputonboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternalmonitor.Doingsowouldcausetheexternalmonitor
screentobescrambledandtheoutputnottobedisplayed;inaddition,itcouldcausedamagetothe
screen.Usetheexternalmonitoronly.
•IftheexternalTFTmonitoryouconnecthasananaloginterface,ickersorripplesmayappearonsome
displays,suchastheshutdownscreenofWindows.ThisiscausedbytheexternalTFTmonitor,and
cannotbexedbyadjustingtheexternalTFTmonitororthecomputersidesettings.
Settingthemonitortypes
Tosetyourmonitortype,doasfollows:
ForWindows7:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectrical
outlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.SetResolution.
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortypeis
correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedoasfollows.
7.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethepassword
orprovideconrmation.
