UsingtheUltraNavpointingdeviceYourcomputermaycomewiththeUltraNavpointingdevice.TheUltraNavconsistsoftheTrackPointand
thetouchpad,eachofwhichisitselfapointingdevicewithbothbasicandextendedfunctions.Youcan
congurebothdevicesbychoosingthesettingsyoupreferasfollows:
•SetboththeTrackPointandthetouchpadaspointingdevices.
ThissettingenablestheuseofallthebasicandextendedfunctionsoftheT rackPointandthetouchpad.
•SettheTrackPointasthemainpointingdeviceandthetouchpadforextendedfunctionsonly .
Thissettingenablestheuseofallbasicande xtendedfunctionswiththeT rackPointwhilelimitingtheuse
ofthetouchpadtoscrolling,tapzones,andslow-motionpointerfunctions.
•SetthetouchpadasthemainpointingdeviceandtheT rackPointfortheextendedfunctionsonly.
Thissettingenablestheuseofallbasicandextendedfunctionswiththetouchpadwhilelimitingthe
useoftheTrackPointtoscrollingandMagnifyingGlassfunctions.
•SettheTrackPointasthemainpointingdevice,anddisablethetouchpad.
•Setthetouchpadasthemainpointingdevice,anddisabletheT rackPoint.
ChangingtheUltraNavsettings
YoucanchangeyoursettingsofUltraNavintheUltraNavtaboftheMousePropertieswindow.Toopenit,
useoneofthefollowingmethods:
•PressFn+F8,andtheUltraNavDeviceSettingswindowisdisplayed.Inthiswindow,clickManage
Settings.Amousepropertieswindowisdisplayed.ClicktheUltraNavtab.
•UsetheStartmenuofyourcomputerasfollows:
–ForWindows7andWindowsVista:ClickStart➙ControlPanel➙HardwareandSound➙Mouse

UsingtheTrackPointpointingdeviceTheTrackPointpointingdeviceconsistsofapointingstick(1)onthekeyboardandthreeclickbuttonsatthe
bottomofthek eyboard.T omovethepointer(5)onthescreen,youapplypressuretothenonslipcaponthe
pointingstickinanydirectionpar alleltothekeyboard;thepointingstickitselfdoesnotmove.Thespeedat
whichthepointermovesdependsonthepressureyouapplytothepointingstick.Thefunctionsoftheleft(4)
andright(2)clickbuttonscorrespondt othoseoftheleftandrightmousebuttonsonaconventionalmouse.
TheTrackPointcenterbutton(3),calledthescrollbar,enablesyout oscrollWebpagesordocumentsinany
directionwithnoneedtousethegraphicscrollbarsonthesideofthewindow.
