–Whentheharddiskdrivebeginsornishesgettingaccesstodata.
–Whenyoucarrytheharddiskdrive.
–Whenyoucarryyourcomputer.
Thisisanormalcharacteristicofaharddiskdriveandisnotadefect.
•Problem:Theharddiskdrivedoesnotwork.
Solution:InthestartupmenuofThinkPadSetup,makesurethattheharddiskdriveisincludedinthe
“Bootpriorityorder”list.Ifitisincludedinthe“Excludedfrombootorder”list,itisdisabled.Selectthe
entryforitinthelistandpresstheShift+1key.Thismovestheentrytothe“Bootpriorityorder”list.
•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedrive
toanothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswor dalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmay
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.
