Replacing a PCI adapter

1.Open the cover. See “Opening the cover” on page 138.

2.While holding the left rear of the computer chassis down, pull upward on the handle provided to remove the PCI riser including any adapters that are already installed.

3.Remove the PCI adapter being replaced from the riser.

4.Remove the new PCI adapter from its static-protective package.

5.Install the adapter into the appropriate connector in the PCI riser.

6.Position the adapter latch to retain the adapters.

7.Reinstall the PCI riser and adapters.

8.To complete the installation, go to “Closing the cover and connecting cables” on page 159.
