Developing process

In the developing process, an electrostatic latent image attracts printer toner and becomes visible on the OPC belt.

There are four toner cartridges. See “Printer theory of operation” on page 1-19for toner cartridges location. The toner cartridges are located in the printer from top to bottom in the order of black, yellow, magenta, and cyan.

1.Toner adheres to the developer roller.

The developer roller makes contact with the surface of the OPC belt which begins the developing process.

2. The developer roller has been biased to -DBV(V) potential.
