OPERATION

SETUP OVERLAY

The Setup Overlay is used to control the water cooler operation (on/off and prime the water cooler), and to set up the voltage sensing configuration of the machine and wire feeder(s) connected to the Power Wave. See Figure B.7.

1.LCD DISPLAY WINDOW: Power up the machine with this overlay in place. When the Power Wave is turned on, the following message appears in the display window for a few seconds:

LINCOLN ELECTRIC

Version X.X

This display is followed by:

OVERLAY ID

NUMBER = 0

This message is then replaced by the following message:

POWER WAVE

SETUP

2.WATER COOLER ON/OFF KEY: Press this key to toggle the water cooler between being enabled and disabled. The present status of the water cooler is indicated by the “WATER COOLER ON” light.

3.WATER COOLER PRESSURE LIGHT: This light indicates whether enough coolant pressure exists for normal water cooler operation. If the water cooler loses the required pressure it will shut down within a couple of seconds and the water cooler pressure light will turn off.

If the water cooler does not have enough pressure to operate when enabled, the machine also sounds a buzzer.

4.PRIME WATER COOLER KEY: The water cooler may have to be primed if there is not enough pres- sure in the water cooler hose for operation. Make sure that the water cooler has been turned on before it is primed. (The “WATER COOLER ON” light should be turned on.) Check reservoir for proper coolant level - See Water Cooler informa- tion in ACCESSORIES section. To prime the water cooler, hold the PRIME WATER COOLER key down. While this key is pressed, the display will show:
