S-87 SYNCHRONOUS DATA SWITCHING-PRI
1. General Description
A synchronous DTE connected to a Dterm/Data Adapter can communicate via the PBX wi th a synchr onous DTE
connected to a Synchronous Dterm/Data Adapter.
2. Operating Procedure
To originate a data call from the sync./async. Dterm/Data Adapter:
1. Press the “D ATA” key on the Dterm. The LED above the key will illumin ate and “D” will appe ar on the LCD.
2. Use the keypad to dial the desired DTE extension. will appear on the display (“XXXX”
refers to the called extension numb er).
3. The DATA LED will flash an d ,will appear (flashing) on the LCD.
4. When the called DTE answers, the display is changed as follows,
for Dterm Series III or for Dterm Series E.
5. A transparent data path is established, and data communication can begin.
To terminate the data call, either user may press the “DATA” key. The other party’s LCD will display as shown
below for fiv e s e c onds. (Dterm Series III) or (Dterm Series E).
Both parties’ DATA and DTX LEDs will be extinguished.
