Digital Zoom

Press the dbutton Mzmenu icon (A6) MDigital zoom

Enable or disable the digital zoom.

Option

Description

On

When the camera is zoomed in to the maximum optical zoom

position, rotating the zoom control toward g(i) triggers the

(default setting)

digital zoom (A25).

 

 

 

 

Limit zoom magnification up to the Vmark position of the

 

zoom indicator. Also limit digital zoom to a range in which the

 

image quality of the pictures to be shot does not deteriorate.

Z Crop

• The digital zoom is not available when the image size is

 

s4896×3672P, r4896×3672, s4864×2736.

 

• This setting functions in the same way as the On setting

 

during movie recording.

 

 

Off

The digital zoom is not activated.

 

 

BNotes on Digital Zoom

•When the digital zoom is used, the focus will be at the center of the frame.

•Digital zoom cannot be used with the following shooting modes.

-When the scene mode is x(Scene auto selector), X (Night landscape), S(Night portrait), W

(Backlighting) with HDR set to On, Portrait, Easy panorama, Pet portrait, 3D photography.

-Smart portrait mode

•Some features cannot be used in combination with other menu settings. See “Features Not Available in Combination” (A64) for more information.

•When the digital zoom is in effect, Metering (E33) is set to Center-weightedor spot metering (where the center of the frame is metered) depending on the magnification of an enlargement.
