Using Macro Mode

When using macro mode, the camera can focus on subjects as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.) from the front of the lens.

This feature is useful when taking close-up pictures of flowers and other small subjects.

1 Press I(pmacro mode) on the multi selector.

2 Press the multi selector Hor Ito select ON

and press the kbutton.

 

If the kbutton is not pressed within a few seconds,

the selection will be canceled.

3 Use the zoom control to set the zoom ratio to a position where Fand the zoom indicator light in green.

How close you can be to the subject when shooting depends on the zoom ratio.

At the zoom position where Fand the zoom indicator light in green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as about 10 cm (4 in.) or farther from the lens. At the G zoom position, it can focus on subjects as close as about 1 cm (0.4 in.) or farther from the lens.

BNote on Using the Flash

The flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.).

CAutofocus

In shooting modes such as scene modes that cannot use the Autofocus mode (A62), Full-time AF may be turned on and the camera will adjust focus even if the shutter-release button is not pressed halfway when macro mode is set. You may hear the sound of the camera focusing.
