Characteristics of Each Scene

Use of a tripod is recommended in scene modes with Oindicated due to slow shutter speed.

Set Vibration reduction in the setup menu (A96) to Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera.

xScene auto selector

When you point the camera at the subject, the camera automatically selects the optimum scene mode from the list below and adjusts the shooting settings accordingly. e: Portrait, f: Landscape, h: Night portrait, g: Night landscape, i: Close-up, j: Backlighting, d: Other scenes

The camera automatically selects the focus area for autofocus in accordance with the composition. The camera detects and focuses on faces (A67).

If the camera switches to night landscape or night portrait scene mode, it shoots a single picture at a slow shutter speed.

The digital zoom is not available.

CNote on Selecting a Scene Mode Using Scene Auto Selector

Depending upon shooting conditions, the camera may not select the desired scene mode. Should this occur, switch to A(auto) mode (A31) or select the optimum scene mode for the subject manually.
