Display current DNS configuration

The Domain Name System (DNS) Menu is used for defining the primary and secondary DNS servers on your local network, and for setting the default domain name served by the switch services. DNS parameters must be configured prior to using hostname parameters with the ping, traceroute, and tftp commands.

Command Syntax and Usage

prima <IP address (such as 192.4.17.101)>

You will be prompted to set the IP address for your primary DNS server. Use dotted decimal nota- tion.

secon <IP address (such as 192.4.17.101)>

You will be prompted to set the IP address for your secondary DNS server. If the primary DNS server fails, the configured secondary will be used instead. Enter the IP address using dotted deci- mal notation.

dname <dotted DNS notation>none

Sets the default domain name used by the switch.

For example: mycompany.com

cur

Displays the current Domain Name System settings.
