Fax – sending

Problem	Cause & Remedy
I cannot send documents.	● The telephone line cord is connected to the EXT jack on
	the unit. Connect to the LINE jack (p. 14) (KX-FP81 only).
	● The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of
	recording paper. Try again.
	● The other party’s machine is not a facsimile. Check with
	the other party.
	● The other party’s fax machine rings too many times. Send
	a fax manually – dial the number, confirm the fax tone,
	then press FAX START .
The other party complains that	● If your line has special telephone services such as call

I cannot receive documents.	● The telephone line cord is connected to the EXT jack on

I cannot receive documents	● The receive mode is set to the TEL mode. Set to the FAX
automatically.	ONLY, TEL/FAX or TAD/FAX (KX-FP85 only) mode

	● The time taken to answer the call is too long. Decrease the
	number of rings of features #06 (p. 67), #30 (p. 69) and
	#78 (p. 73).
	● The greeting message is too long. Shorten the message
	(p. 56)(KX-FP85 only).
