Listening to Voice Mail Messages

After the voice mail box having received messages, the unit will indicate it in two ways: (a) “Voice mail” and “ will” display, and (b) the VM (Voice mail) indicator on the base unit will flash. To listen to your voice mail message(s), follow the steps below.

(Cordless\Handset)

1 Press (FLASH/CALL\WAIT/VOICE\MAIL). The stored voice mail access number is

displayed (p. 52, 53).

The cordless handset automatically dials the

 

access number.

Follow the pre-recorded instructions.

When finished, press (OFF).

Press (VM).

The base unit is connected to the telephone line and automatically dials

 

the access number.

 

If 3 beeps sound, you have not stored the voice mail access number. Store

 

the number (p. 52, 53).

Follow the pre-recorded instructions.

When finished, press (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE).

Advanced Operation

If “Voice mail” and “

still” remain on the display, the VM (Voice mail)

 

indicator on the base unit still flashes even if you have listened to your voice mail

message(s), press (MUTE/FUNCTION), and press and hold

 

(CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD) until the unit beeps. “Voice mail” and “

will”

disappear and the VM (Voice mail) indicator will turn off.

 

If your voice mail service uses a voice mail tone and the recorded message is

over 3 minutes long, “Voice mail” and “

may” not be displayed, the VM

(Voice mail) indicator may not flash.

 

 

If your voice mail service uses a voice mail tone, the tone will be heard from any

 

parallel connected phone. If you use another phone to retrieve messages, you

 

have to dial your access number manually.
