You cannot have a conversation using the cordless handset.

When the optional headset is connected (p. 62), you must use the headset to talk with the caller. To have a normal cordless phone conversation, disconnect the headset.

You cannot have a conversation using the optional headset.

Make sure that the headset is connected properly (p. 62).

Base unit

Problem

Cause and Remedy

The base unit does not ring. The ringer volume is set to OFF. Select HIGH or LOW (p. 20).

While programming or searching, the base unit starts to ring and stops the program/search.

To answer the call, lift the handset or press (DIGITAL–SP-PHONE). Start again from the beginning after hanging up.

The base unit does not display the caller’s name and/or phone number.

You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service.

Other telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect it and try again.

Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering with the Caller ID information.

Telephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.

The base unit display exits the Caller List.

Do not pause for over 60 seconds while searching.

When a second call is received during a conversation, the base unit does not display the new caller’s information.

The line mode selection is incorrect. See page 16.

The caller requested not to send his/her information. See page 29.
