You cannot have a conversation using the cordless handset.

≥When the optional headset is connected (p. 62), you must use the headset to talk with the caller. To have a normal cordless phone conversation, disconnect the headset.

You cannot have a conversation using the optional headset.

≥Make sure that the headset is connected properly (p. 62).

Base unit

Problem Cause and Remedy

The base unit does not ring. ≥The ringer volume is set to OFF. Select HIGH or LOW (p. 20).

While programming or searching, the base unit starts to ring and stops the program/search.

≥To answer the call, lift the handset or press (DIGITAL–SP-PHONE). Start again from the beginning after hanging up.

The base unit does not display the caller’s name and/or phone number.

≥You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service.

≥Other telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect it and try again.

≥Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering with the Caller ID information.

≥Telephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.

The base unit display exits the Caller List.

≥Do not pause for over 60 seconds while searching.

When a second call is received during a conversation, the base unit does not display the new caller’s information.

≥The line mode selection is incorrect. See page 16.

≥The caller requested not to send his/her information. See page 29.
