Using a Card
A Card can be used to record files or play back files.
Use genuine card only.
ªInserting a Card
Before inserting a Card, be sure to turn off the Movie Camera.
1While holding the Memory Card with its cut off corner A
facing right 1, insert it into the Card Slot 2.
The display of the Card Slot changes from 3 to 4.
Ejecting a Card
After turinig the Movie Camera off, slide the [CARD EJECT] Lever 5 to the
left.
ª[ACCESS] Lamp 6
While the Movie Camera is making an access to the Card (reading,
recording, playback, erasing or moving of images), the [ACCESS] Lamp
lights up.
While the [ACCESS] Lamp is on, never attempt to open the Card
Compartment, to pull out the Card, to turn off the Movie Camera, or to
switch the [TAPE/CARD] Selector. Such actions will damage the Card,
cause loss of recorded data and cause the Movie Camera to malfunction.

Recording on a Card
Three kinds of data can be recorded by selecting with the [PICTURE/
MPEG4/VOICE] Selector Switch. When recording picture, select [PICTURE]
(Card PhotoShot), when recording moving picture, select [MPEG4] (MPEG4
Recording), when recording voice, select [VOICE] (Voice Recording).
If the [TAPE/CARD] Selector is set to [CARD], the Movie Camera is
automatically turned off when you leave it for about 6 minutes without
performing any photshot recording.
When the [TAPE/CARD] Selector is set to [CARD], you cannot record to the
Tape.
ªCard Photoshot
Still pictures can be recorded on the Memory Card from the Movie Camera
lens as well as from scenes that have already been recorded on a cassette.
The size of images that are recorded using this Movie Camera is
approximately 1,080,000 pixels, and recording of images with a size that is
larger than a million pixels is called mega-pixel still-picture recording.
Compared to images of normal recording, images that are created by mega-
pixel still-picture recording can be printed out clearer.
Recording from the Movie Camera Lens (CAMERA Mode)
1Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector towards [CARD].
2Slide the [PICTURE/MPEG4/VOICE] Selector Switch to
[PICTURE].
3Set [PICTURE SIZE] in [CARD SETUP] Sub-Menu to
[1200t900] or [640t480].
If you select [1200t900], you can take pictures with higher resolution.
(Mega-Pixel Recording)
4Press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.
The [ ] Indication light in red. 1
Recording is not possible while the Indication is lit in green.
Please use the supplied Lens Hood for MEGA Still Picture Recording in
Mega-Pixel Recording. You can get better image.
Recording from a Cassette (VCR Mode)

1Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector towards [CARD].

2Slide the [PICTURE/MPEG4/VOICE] Selector Switch to
[PICTURE].

3Start playback at the scene you want to record, and press
the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.
The size of the images input externally or recorded from a tape to the
card becomes [640k480].
Please refer to Recording the Contents of Other Equipment (l 49),
regarding the recording from other equipment.
