3.Precautions when designating simultaneous timer backup

The backup program, which can be designated as an individual operation, can also be designated with the record and power programs. The following items apply when des- ignating these multiple program modes.

There may be restrictions imposed by the other recording devices. It is recommended that adequate program checks are run before actual operation.

Observe the following precautions when connecting devices requiring time to halt startup (for example, archive devices, tape recording devices etc.)

Using the backup setting’s designated time plus five minutes (the halt startup time of the peripheral recording devices) as a gauge, set the unit so that modes do not change. (Refer to illustration 1.)

Even when only designating the backup mode, add one minute or more to the backup operation time, and set other programs to start and stop. (Refer to Illus- tration 2.)

RESTORING DATA FROM A BACKUP DEVICE

The recorder can restore recorded data to the hard disk from an archive or copy device. Follow the steps in the section on Using the COPY Button in the Backing up Data section. In step 7, set the Copy Direction to COPY –> HDD. In step 8, ON is the only setting avail- able for OVERWRITE. During the restoration process, image data currently stored on the unit’s hard disk is overwritten.
