10 • Troubleshooting

Display is Difficult to Read

You can adjust the LCD display contrast if necessary.

1.Press Menu.

2.Use the Review keys to scroll and select "Change setup".

3.Use the Review keys to scroll and select "Change display contrast?".

4.Select the contrast you want using the keypad.

5.Press Clear/Back to return to the main screen.

Problems Dialing Out

Proper phone line not connected to meter

Make sure you've connected your postage meter to a dedicated an- alog phone line (the same type you connect your home phone to). If you are using a DSL line you should use a DSL filter obtained from your DSL provider.

Incorrect meter settings

One or more of the postage meter options may be set up wrong. Go to Section 6 - Machine Settings and check the following:

Does your phone system require you to dial a prefix number to get an outside phone line? Make sure to include these in the setup if needed.

Is the dial method correct? You have to tell the postage meter if your phone uses a pulse or tone for dialing.
