Probe Mode

wCAUTION

Spoiled Food Hazard

Use only the probe provided with the product.

Use of a different probe may damage the unit resulting in undercooked food.

1.Insert probe through the grommet on wCAUTION glass lid and into

meat. Make sure probe is com- pletely inserted into the meat. It should not touch bone, fat or gristle.

2.Plug the probe into the probe jack on the side of the slow cooker base.

3.Press Spoiled Food Hazard to turn slow cooker on.

4. Press

PROBE and

Heat

will illuminate.

 

 

Setting

 

5.Select a desired heat setting by pressing the up or down arrow buttons to scroll between LOW and HIGH settings.

6. Press ENTER when desired heat

setting is selected. Desired will illuminate.

Temp

7.Select desired temperature of food by pressing up or down arrow but- tons (5 degree increments). Refer to temperature guide on glass lid for food safety guidelines or to the cook- ing guide on page 7 for suggested food temperatures.

NOTE: To change temperature dis- play from Fahrenheit to Celsius,

press automatically if PROBE and ENTER at the same time. The temperature in Celsius will now be displayed. If the slow cooker is unplugged, it will reset to Fahrenheit.

8. Press ENTER when the desired

temperature is selected to begin cooking. Slow cooker will turn on

automatically if

ENTER

is not

pushed within 20 seconds. NOTE: Display will flash until

ENTER is pressed.

The display will show COOK and a 3 second beep will sound. While cooking, the display will alternate between the desired cooking tem- perature and the actual cooking temperature.

NOTE: The display will indicate PLUG PRBE if the probe is not plugged in. If the probe is not plugged in, the slow cooker will cook at the heat setting previously selected. It will shut off after 14 hours of operation.

9.When the internal temperature of the food reaches the desired tempera- ture, the slow cooker will beep 3 times then automatically switch to the Keep Warm setting and and the display will show WARM.

NOTES:

14 hours is the maximum amount of operating time. After a total of 14 hours, the slow cooker will shut off automatically and the display will shut OFF.

Modes may be changed during cooking, however slow cooker must be restarted to change the desired internal temperature.
