Information on installing the operating systems is available for:
• Windows NT
• Windows 98 (Panel PC 670 only)
• Windows ME (Panel PC 870 only)
• Windows 2000
in Internet under http://www.siemens.com/simatichmi.
Note
The Panel PC 670/870 is optionally available without an operating s ystem.
During the installation of a third party operating system, the user mus t integrate
all software components (e. g. drivers) required for the operating s ystem by
himself.
The Panel PC 670/870 offers specific application functions (e.g. touchsc reen,
function keys on the front side) beyond the functional scope of a standar d PC.
When a third party operating system is installed by the user, the us ability of
these application functions cannot be guaranteed, in contrast to a
Panel PC 670/870 with operating system supplied by Siemens.
When a third party operating system is integrated in the Panel PC 67 0/870,
support can only be provided by Siemens AG to a minimum extent for the
reasons explained.
Note
Operating systems which do not support USB (e.g. DOS) cannot be used with
the Panel PC 670/870.
