In this manual, both the LCD monitor of this unit and an externally connected monitor are referred to collectively as the “monitor screen”.

bAudio level meters

These indicate the audio recording levels (during recording) or audio playback levels (during playback) of channels 1 to 4. If the audio level exceeds 0 dB, the OVER indicator at the top lights.

cOperation mode

aSystem frequency display

Indicates the current setting of the system frequency set in the SYSTEM SEL menu item (see page 84).

60i: Indicates that 59.94i (J) or 59.94i (UC) (NTSC) is selected.

50i: Indicates that 50i (PAL) is selected.

On how to set the system frequency, see “Setting the System Frequency” (page 25).

This indicates the current operating modes.

REC INHI (recording inhibit mode): Lights when the REC/SAVE switch on the loaded cassette is in the SAVE position (recording inhibited).

NO EDIT (not editable): Lights during playback of a tape that contains a recording in other than DVCAM format. When this indicator is lit, the recordings contained in the tape can be used as source material for editing, but editing operations such as insert editing and assemble editing cannot be performed on such tape. This indicator also lights during editing
