5-5 Installing Memory

CAUTION

Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to

prevent any possible damage.

DIMM Installation (See Figure 5-3)

1.Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with DIMM1A and DIMM1B. Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of the module to prevent inserting the module incorrectly. (See support information below.)

2.Gently press down on the memory module until it snaps into place. Repeat to install all DIMMs.

Memory Support

The X6DLP-EG2 supports up to 16 GB of registered ECC DDR2-400 type SDRAM. The memory scheme is interleaved so you must install two modules at a time. Note: Due to OS limitations, some operating systems may not support more than 4GB of memory.)
