Memory Support

The X7DB3 supports up to 32 GB of ECC FBD (Fully Buffered DIMMs) DDR2-667 or DDR2-533 SDRAM. The memory is an interleaved configuration, which requires modules of the same size and speed to be installed in pairs. You should not mix DIMMs of different sizes and speeds. See Figure 5-3 for installing and removing memory modules.

Notes: 1. DIMM slot# specified = DIMM slot to be populated; “---“ = DIMM slot to be left unpopulated. 2. Both FBD 533 MHz and 667MHz DIMMs are supported, however you need to use memory modules of the same speed and type. 3. Interleaved memory is supported when pairs of DIMM modules are installed in both Branch 0 and Branch 1. Interleaved memory is not available if only 2 DIMMs are installed on the motherboard.
