Noise suppression on the horizontal and vertical contour signals is gain controlled. The final contour correction level is reduced in the dark areas of the image to decrease noise visibility. The system features a high amplitude detail compressor (“SOFT CONTOUR”).
•“DIAG CONTOUR” function which, by decreasing the amplitude of frequencies close to the subcarrier, reduces the “CROSS COLOR” phenomena.
•“SKIN DETAIL” function which is used to reduce the detail level on any skin detail chosen either manually or automatically by the operator.
•“DFZ” function. This is used to reduce or increase the detail level according to the zoom position.
•“MASKING” correction enabling very accurate colorimetry and colour identity adjustment for all cameras. Three matrix values may be stored enabling colorimetric blending of the TTV1707 with other cameras while retaining the reference EBU matrix values.
•“GAMMA” correction providing a very good rendering of lowly illuminated areas of the image. Several gamma laws are proposed: Factory, Custom, BBC, CCIR. From a given law, it is possible to modify the gamma corrections of the three primaries R, G and B individually.
•“BLACK STRETCH” by modifying the gamma correction response, black stretch is used to increase or decrease the black gain without affecting the remainder of the image.
•Automatic or manual white knee with colour restoration. This device is used to obtain maximum exploitation of the complete contrast range restored by the sensors and
•“ABL” function used to increase the contrast of some images (e.g.: in fog).
Triaxial link between the camera head and the Channel Control Unit.
This link carries the following signals: The 270 Mbit digital video, 2 return videos (one optional), 1 intercom link, 1 “ambient mic” sound, the camera time base generator control signal, the remote control forward and return signals and power to supply the camera.
