is very thick. There will be no problem in copying even if they are not fully lowered.
yDo not look fully at the original glass since intensive light may leak out during copy-
ing.

Using Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (optional) / Automatic

Document Feeder (optional)

When a stack of originals are placed on the Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (optional) /
Automatic Document Feeder (optional), the originals are automatically scanned one by one. The
following types of originals are available *1:
*1 To scan 2-sided originals, the Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (optional) is required.
ySome media types may not be used.
yThe maximum number of sheets acceptable varies depending on the media types of the
originals.
yA5 size originals must be placed in a landscape direction.
ySizes which the Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (optional) / Automatic Document
Feeder (optional) can detect automatically are A3, A4, A4-R, A5-R, B4, B5, B5-R and
FOLIO. (The size of FOLIO originals can be detected automatically only when they are
placed on the Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (optional).)

Precautions for Reversing Automatic Document Feeder

(optional) / Automatic Document Feeder (optional)

Do not use the following types of original since such types may cause a paper jam or damage to
the equipment:
yExtremely wrinkled, folded or curled ones
yOnes with carbon paper
yTaped, pasted or cut-out ones
yClipped or stapled ones
yOnes with holes or tears
yDamp ones
yOverhead transparencies or tracing paper
yCoating paper (e.g. coated with wax)
The following types of originals are usable but need extra care:
yOnes which cannot be slid with fingers or whose surface is specially treated (they may not be
separated from each other at feeding)
yFolded or curled ones (should be smoothed out before being used)
