CAUTION!

Use only the type

and size battery speci- fied in the instructions for your unit. NEVER USE NiMH OR ALKALINE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. Cells may explode. Check local codes for possible special disposal instruc- tions.

Do not open or muti- late the batteries. Battery electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.

Exercise care in han- dling batteries in order not to short them with conducting materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may over- heat and cause burns.

Exercising the Batteries

1.Unplug the Superprint Pro80 and turn it on.

2.Leave the Superprint Pro80 this way until the Power light flashes.

3.Turn the power off and plug the Superprint Pro80 back in for at least 24 hours.

4.Unplug the Superprint Pro80 and turn it on.

5.Leave the Superprint Pro80 this way for 15 minutes.

6.Repeat steps 1 through 5 until the Power light does not blink after 15 minutes of being on without the power adapter plugged in.

7.Plug in the Superprint Pro80. It is now ready for use.

Replacing the batteries

Replace the batteries every two or three years, or when they run down in less than 15 minutes and exercising them does not help.

Use only AA, NiCad rechargeable batteries. NiMH and alkaline rechargeable batteries will damage the Superprint Pro80 if it is plugged in. These batteries require their own recharger.

If you unplug the Superprint Pro80 and remove the batteries for more than 12 hours, all memory will be erased. The Greeting, Auto-Answer message and other personalized settings will go to the factory default values.

Remove the cover: Slide cover in the direction of the arrow.Then, lift it off.

Put the battery cover back on.

Take out the old batteries and put in new ones. Be sure that the + and - ends match the symbols on the bottom of the TTY.

Release the cover: Press the release tab with the point of a pen through the small hole.
