Key Switch

The Model ST1000 features a removable key (Figure 31) to disable the ON/OFF switch. This feature is handy for preventing unexpected start-up or keeping unauthorized persons from operating the machine.

Unsupervised children and visitors inside your shop could cause serious personal injury to themselves. Lock all entranc- es to the shop when you are away and DO NOT allow unsu- pervised children or visitors in your shop at any time!

Guide Post

The guide post (shown in Figure 32) connects the upper blade guide assembly to the bandsaw. The function of the guidepost is to allow the blade guide assembly to move up or down depending on the height of the workpiece being cut. In order to cut accurately, the blade guide assembly must be no more than 1" from the top of the workpiece at all times—this positioning provides the greatest sup- port to the blade.

To adjust guide post assembly alignment on the guide post:

1.Make sure that the blade tension, blade track- ing, support bearing, and blade guides are adjusted correctly.

2. Loosen the guide post lock knob shown in Figure 32.

3. Raise/lower the bottom of the blade guide assembly to approximately 18" above the workpiece.

4. Lock the guide post in place with the lock knob.
