LAN Link Status Not Talking
When the DEFINITY G3PD Administrator utility’s Link Status command is run, the Link Status field on the Link Status screen (see Figure
The following numbered items represent possible scenarios:
1.The LAN link to the DEFINITY switch is down.
When the link to the DEFINITY switch is down, the TCP/IP connection is not closed. However, the G3PD cannot communicate over the link until it receives a link status message that the link is up. To establish or
■Use the DEFINITY status
■Choose "Port Status/Control" from the DEFINITY LAN Gateway main menu. This command should indicate that the DEFINITY Port State is "CONNECTED", the TCP/IP Connection State is "Established", and the Brouter Service State is "in service".
The following bullet items list the values of the LAN link status that may be reported:
■BRI Down — There has been a problem in the communication between the DLG and the switch. To clear this problem, do the following:
1.On the DLG, verify that the port listed under "Brouter Administration" agrees with the last two digits of the port on the station form for the ASAI link on the switch. If it does not, change the administration so that it does. Otherwise, proceed to step 2.
2.On the switch, verify the ASAI station settings are correct: TEI fixed? y
