Cleaning the printer

Tips – Card cleaning roller

Wash the card cleaning rollers regularly, such as every time you change the ink ribbon.

More frequent cleaning may be required under heavy use conditions.

Clean rollers every 200 cards to improve print quality.

Allow the card cleaning rollers to dry thoroughly before reinstalling them in the printer.

Replace the card cleaning rollers annually.

This section provides information on proper care and cleaning of the RP90 Plus printer. It also includes recommendations on how often to clean and replace components.

Cleaning the card cleaning rollers

The card cleaning rollers are located inside the card hopper and clean lint and other debris from the cards before printing. The card cleaning rollers should be cleaned regularly, such as every time the ink ribbon or retransfer film is changed. To clean the rollers:

1Open the card hopper.

2 Pull the card cleaning rollers out.

3Wash the blue cleaning rollers

with water. Rub rollers gently under running water. Do not use isopropanol or detergents to clean the rollers.

4Allow the card cleaning rollers to dry thoroughly.

5 Reinstall the cleaning unit with the blue rollers facing up.

6 Close the card hopper.

Card feed roller

The card feed rollers move the card

through the printing process. To clean the card feed roller:

1Open the card hopper and remove cards.

2 Slide the card bracket to the left until it locks.

3 Clean the card feed roller with a cotton swab dipped in ethanol.

4Load cards as described in

“Load cards” on page 8.
