Note: When configuring the primary adapter in failover mode, provide the index number for the backup adapter. When configuring the backup adapter, provide the index number for the primary board.

9Press Esc and save the configuration.

10To configure the backup board, repeat steps 4-9.

11Confirm that the two boards are installed and configured, then select PROTOCOLS from the main menu and make sure that your network protocols are enabled. IPX/SPX is enabled by default.

12When your protocols are enabled and configured (TCP/IP numbering scheme), select Bindings from the main menu.

13Select INSERT and select the protocol to bind to the network adapter.

14Repeat steps 11-13 for the second (Backup) adapter.

15Highlight the backup adapter and press Tab to disable it. This insures proper Failover operation and traffic routing.

16View CONFIGURATION to make sure that the boards are installed and configured properly.

17Press Esc and exit the INETCFG utility.

18At the server console type down and then type restart system to start the new configuration. Initial configuration of the driver is complete.

Enabling SNMP Agents

1Add the following two lines at the end of the sys:system/autoexec.ncf file.

LOAD CDTDMI

LOAD FAILMIB

The installation and initial configuration of the driver is complete.

2Reboot for the configuration to take effect.
