17From the Duralink Setup by Adaptec dialog box, choose the appropriate connection type for your network. Use the default selection, Autodetect Default Connection, if you don’t know the appropriate connection type. The options are:

Autodetect Default Connection

Detects the cable type and optimal line speed for the specific Adaptec PCI adapter model in use. This is the default and recommended connection type. refer to the NT Help file in the Adapter Configuration dialog box for the specific default settings for an adapter.

InitSense/Half Duplex

Detects the line speed (10 or 100 Mb/s) when the adapter initializes and is set for Half Duplex mode.

InitSense/Full Duplex

Detects the line speed (10 or 100 Mb/s) when the adapter initializes and is set for Full Duplex mode.

ActiveSense/Half Duplex

Detects the line speed (10 or 100 Mb/s) when the adapter initializes and continues to check for change in the line speed.The adapter is configured for Half Duplex mode.

ActiveSense/Full Duplex

Detects the line speed (10 or 100 Mb/s) when the adapter initializes and checks for change in the line speed. The adapter is configured for Full Duplex mode.

10 Mb/s UTP/Half Duplex

Forces the connection to 10 Mb/s in Half Duplex mode.

10 Mb/s UTP/Full Duplex

Forces the connection to 10 Mb/s in Full Duplex mode.

100 Mb/s/Half Duplex

Forces the connection to 100 Mb/s in Half Duplex mode.
