PROCEDURE 6

 

 

AXLE TUBE IS MOVED FROM FACTORY SET POSITION OR IS REPLACED - T-3 ADJUSTABLE MODELS AND T-3 ELITE MODELS WITH ADJUSTABLE CAMBER TUBES ONLY (FIGURE 10)

NOTE: Before performing this procedure, make sure the camber inserts are positioned to the lowest degree of camber. Refer to ADJUSTING REAR WHEEL CAMBER in this procedure of the manual.

1.Open the camber clamps. Refer to OPENING/CLOSING CLAMPS in this procedure of the manual.

2.Loosen the set screws that secure the toe adjustment rings to the axle tube.

3.Using an "L" square, rotate axle tube until flat edge of the camber insert is at a 90-degree angle with the ground/floor as shown in FIGURE 10.

4.Close the Right camber clamp. Refer to OPENING/CLOSING CLAMPS in this proce- dure of the manual.

NOTE: Do not close the left quick release lever or tighten the hex screw and locknut at this time.

5.Rotate the Left toe adjustment ring until the tab stops against the Lower metal tab on the frame bracket.

6.Securely tighten the set screw on the toe adjustment ring.

7.Measure distance between center lines at the rear and front of the rear wheels at ap- proximately 12-inches from the ground/floor. Refer to DETERMINING TOE IN/TOE OUT in this procedure of the manual.

8.Repeat STEPS 1-6 until the toe in/toe out measurement is within +1/8-inch.

9.Reposition the camber insert for the highest degree of camber. Refer to ADJUSTING REAR WHEEL CAMBER in this procedure of the manual.

10.Close the Left camber clamp. Refer to OPENING/CLOSING CLAMPS in this procedure of the manual.

11.Open the Right camber clamp. Refer to OPENING/CLOSING CLAMPS in this proce- dure of the manual.

12.Repeat STEPS 3-8 for the Right side of the wheelchair.
