Self Clean Mode Operation – Upper and Lower Oven

To Set the SELF CLEAN Mode to Start Now:

Self Clean only one oven at a time.

The oven light does not operate during this mode.

Be sure that the time-of-day clock is displaying the correct time.

Three hours is the preset length of cleaning.

Example shows clock set at 5:00

1.Select OVEN.

Select once for UPPER oven.

Select twice for LOWER oven.

The mode stops automatically at the end of the clean hours.

As a safety feature, the oven door locks during SELF CLEAN to protect you from very high temperatures. Do not try to open oven door.

4.Select START.

The door locks automatically. When the lock symbol is displayed, the door cannot be opened. Confirm that the door locks and will not open before starting Self Clean mode. If door does not lock, press OFF and do not self-clean; phone 800 / 735- 4328 for service (see Page 64 for obtaining service). If the door is in the open position when this mode is selected, the display will flash the word “dor.” This is a reminder that the door must be closed before the SELF CLEAN mode can be set.
