To avoid falls, use care when entering or exiting the bath or shower.

Bath units: Do not bathe in water temperatures which exceed 104°F (40°C). Prolonged immersion in hot water may induce hyperthermia. Hyperthermia occurs when the body’s internal temperature is several degrees above the normal temperature of 98.6°F (37°C). The use of alcohol, drugs, or medications can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia.

Bath units: Use care when adding products, such as bath oil or bubble bath, as bath surfaces may become slippery.
