• To reduce the risk associated with
sharp blade hazards:
− Keep hands and fi ngers away from tape cutoff blades under orange blade
guards. The blades are extremely sharp.
WARNING
IMPORTANT! Tape cutting blade. Never remove
the safety device which covers the blade on the top
and bottom taping units. Blades are extremely sharp.
Any error may cause serious injuries (Figure 3-5).
• To reduce the risk associated with
pinches hazards:
− Keep hands clear of the upper head support assembly as boxes are
transported through the machine.
− Keep hands, hair, loose clothing, and jewelry away from box compression rollers.
− Always feed boxes into the machine by pushing only from the end of the box.
− Keep hands, hair, loose clothing, jewelry away from moving belts and taping heads.
CAUTION
• To reduce the risk associated with
f re and explosion hazards:
− Do not operate this equipment in potentially fl ammable/explosive
environments.
WARNING
• To reduce the risk associated with
muscle strain:
− Use the appropriate rigging and material handling equipment when
lifting or repositioning this equipment.
− Use proper body mechanics when removing or installing taping heads
that are moderately heavy or may be
considered awkward to lift.
WARNING
IMPORTANT! Never keep hands on the box while it
is driven by the belts (Figure 3-6).
IMPORTANT! Drive belts. Never work on the
machine with loose hair or loose garments such as
scarfs, ties or sleeves (Figure 3-7).
