Command Reference

Step 1. Successful Mount request reclassifying the selected media.

Requests VolServ to mount any media from MediaClass group medclassstgmed onto any drive in drive pool drvpoolmed, and to change the MediaClass association of the selected media from medclassstgmed to medclassmed.

vsmount -c medclassstgmed -p drvpoolmed -n medclassmed

Step 2. Output returned:

Mount of Media [MED048] onto Drive [3] was successful

Note

Before running the vsmount request, MED048 was associated with medclassstgmed. After running the vsmount request, MED048 is associated with medclassmed. The vsmedqry command can be used to verify the MediaClass association of a specific media.

Step 1. Unsuccessful Mount request requiring an inter-library move.

Requests VolServ to mount media MED023 located in the stage1 library onto drive 11 associated with the tower1 library.
