Parameters
Changes the state of a drive.
A drive in the offline, unavailable, or diagnostic state is excluded from VolServ’s drive selection algorithm.
Tip
A vsmount or vslock request for an offline, unavailable, or diagnostic drive will fail.
On the ohter hand, varying a drive to the online state makes it available for selection for vsmount or vslock requests.

Parameter | Description |

| whose state is to be varied. |

Specifies the name of a drive pool . | |
| • Valid drive pool names may contain up to |
| 16 alphanumeric characters, including |
| spaces. |
| • Leading and trailing spaces are not |
| permitted. |
