Dual Port Adapter

The AT-2911GP adapter card can be used as a dual port adapter or a bridge to connect two ports.

The following list shows the supported operating systems to use the AT- 2911GP adapter card as a dual port adapter:

Windows 8

Windows Server 2012

Windows 7

Windows Server 2008 R2

Windows Vista

Windows Server 2008

Windows XP

Windows Server 2003

Linux

Bridge to Connect Two Ports to One Network

The AT-2911GP adapter uses Linux inbox driver software to operate so that you do not need to install driver software for Linux systems. A driver supplied with an operating system is called an inbox driver.

For Windows Operating Systems, you must install driver software for the AT-2911GP adapter. To install driver software for Windows Operating Systems, see Chapter 3, “Installing the Driver Software” on page 35.

The following list shows the supported operating systems to use the AT- 2911GP adapter as a bridge:

Windows 7

Windows XP 32-bit

In addition to installing driver software, you must install the AT-MUX utility on your system to function as a bridge. See Chapter 4, “Installing the AT- MUX Utility” on page 63.
