When the TAD is in use, the LCD shows Telephone.
ConnectionsThe external TAD must be plugged into the back of the machine, into
the jack labeled EXT. You r machine cannot work p roperly if you plug
the TAD into a wall jack (unless you are using Distinctive Ring).

Plug the telephone line cor d from the telephone wa ll jack into the
back of the machine, in the jack l abeled LINE.

Plug the telephone line cord from your external TAD into the
back of the machine, in the ja ck labeled EXT. (Make sure this
cord is connected to the TA D at the TAD’s telephone line jack,
and not its telephone jack.)

Set your external TAD to four rings or less. (The machine’s Ring
Delay setting does not appl y.)

Record the outgoing message on your external TAD.

Set the TAD to answer calls.

For MFC-3320CN, set the Receive Mode to External TAD.

For FAX-1920CN, set the Receive Mode to Manual (See
Choosing the Receive Mode (F AX-1920CN only) on page 5-3.)
Unless you are using Distinctive Ring, do not connect a
TAD elsewhere on the same phone line.
Make sure the Easy Receive Setting is ON. (See Easy Receive
(FAX-1920CN only) on page 5-9.)
