Manual transmission (MFC-3 320CN only)
Manual transmission l ets you hear the dial ing, ringing and
fax-receiving tones while sending a fax.

If it is not illuminated i n green, press (Fax).

Load your original. (See Load originals on page 2-1.)

Pick up the handset of the ext ernal phone and listen for a dial
tone.
—OR—
Press Hook and listen for a dial tone.

On the external phone, dial t he fax number you want to call.
—OR—
If you pressed Hook, dial using the machine’s control panel.

When you hear the fax tone,
press Black Start or Color Start.

If you picked up the handset of the external phone, replace it.
