Press Hook/Hold to put a call on Hold.
You can put down the handset without disconnecting the call.
Lift the handset.
Press #. Any digits dialed after this will send tone signals.

Pause

Press Redial/Pause to insert a 3.5-second pause between numbers. If you are dialing overseas, you can press Redial/Pause as many times as needed to increase the length of the pause.

Tone or Pulse (Canada only)

If you have a Pulse dialing service, but need to send Tone signals (for example, for telephone banking), follow the instructions below. If you have Touch Tone service, you will not need this feature to send tone signals.

3 When you hang up, the MFC will return to the Pulse dialing service.

Making a telephone call

1 Pick up the handset.

OR

Press Hook/Hold.

2 When you hear a dial tone, dial the call using the dial pad, One-Touch, Speed-Dial and Search.

If you pressed Hook/Hold to dial, pick up the handset when the other person answers. (The speaker works only one way. The other person will not be able to hear you unless you pick up the handset.)

To hang up, replace the handset.

3 Pick up the MFC handset to release call from Hold. Picking up the handset of an extension phone will not release call from Hold.
