Mode Set Button

This is a multi-function button. It can be used to:

•Change the mode (RAID level).

•Mute the audible alarm.

•Start a rebuild process, if the MV 4440 is in RAID 6 mode.

Indicator	Description
Mode Set Button	Used during the mode change procedure (see page 5-12).
(for Mode changes)	Press and hold this switch and apply power to the MV 4440. A double beep confirms
	the mode change.
	Release the switch after the double beep. The new Mode selection is now set.
Mode Set Button	In RAID 6 mode, and when a drive is marked as “down,” this switch is used to start
(for drive rebuilds)	the drive rebuild process.
	After the alarm has been muted, press and hold the Mode Set button until you hear
	two beeps. The rebuild process has now started.

	Chapter 8, Maintenance) for additional information.

NOTE: If a drive has been marked as failed, the vPOD will not double- beep if a drive is marked as down, and the Mode Set button is held down while powering-up the unit.

However, to clear this mode anyway, change the mode to Mode 0, then back to the previous mode.
