Formatting and Partitioning

Formatting and partitioning the MV 4440 is required, in order to prepare the unit for usage.

After the unit is physically connected to your computer, use the following sections as a guide to locate and execute the appropriate utility to format and partition the MV 4440.

Treat each vPOD as one, ordinary hard-drive when partitioning and formatting.

Install the appropriate driver for your host adapter.

NOTE: Drive capacity can vary, depending on drive size and mode of operation. In the illustrations in this chapter array sizes can vary.
