The Cisco 7401ASR router operates as either a tabletop or a rack-mounted unit. A rack-mount kit is standard equipment included with the Cisco 7401ASR router when it is shipped from the factory. The kit provides the hardware needed to mount the router in a standard 19-inch equipment rack or a two post rack or a 21–23-inch equipment rack.

If you are not rack-mounting your Cisco 7401ASR router, place it on a sturdy tabletop or platform.
