Connecting Power

Proceed to the “Connecting Power” section on page 2-23to complete the installation.

Connecting Power

This section provides the procedures for connecting AC-input and DC-input power to your Cisco 7401ASR router.

Warning This unit might have more than one power cord. To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect the two power supply cords before servicing the unit.

Warning The AC power supply has double pole/neutral fusing.

Connect an AC-input power supply as follows:

Step 1 At the front of the router, check that the power switch is in the off (O) position.

Step 2 Plug the power cable into the AC connector on the router.

Step 3 Plug the AC power supply cable into the AC power source.

Note After powering off the router, wait at least 30 seconds before powering it on again.

This completes the procedure for connecting AC-input power. Your installation is complete. Proceed to Chapter 3, “Starting and Configuring,” to start the router and to perform a basic configuration.
