If the network is large or extensive network statistics are needed, an Ethernet port (LAN port) should be used. Larger networks produce a greater flow of statistics data between the node and the Cisco WAN Manager workstation, so a higher speed Ethernet port is suitable. Figure 3-17illustrates this connection. Accessing a node over an Internet connection requires the operator to use cnflan to enter the Internet Protocol (IP) address, IP subnet mask, TCP service port, and gateway IP address.
