Solaris Only

Command Description

Uses PAGER to display the contents of the system message log.

To save the current contents of the log, clear the log, and restart the server, enter sgm viewlog clear.

To display the contents of the log in reverse order, with the most recent messages at the beginning of the log, enter sgm msglog -r.

This command has the same function as the sgm msglog command.

You must be logged in as the root user or as a super user to use this command.

Full Syntax

sgm wall message_string

Command Description

Sends a message to all clients connected to the server. For example:

./sgm wall Server going down at 9:00 pm tonight.

sends the following message:

Server going down at 9:00 pm tonight.
