What Is Needed

productsequippedwithanRJ45COMporttoanIBMorcompatiblePCrunningaVT
seriesemulationsoftwarepackage.
WithaUTPcableandanoptionalRJ45toDB25femaleadapter,youcanconnectproducts
equippedwithanRJ45COMporttoaVTseriesterminalorVTtypeterminalsrunning
emulationprogramsfortheVTseries.
WithaUTPcableandanoptionalRJ45toDB25maleadapter,youcanconnectproducts
equippedwithanRJ45COMporttoaHayescompatiblemodemthatsupports9600baud.

Connecting to an IBM PC or Compatible Device

ToconnectanIBMPCorcompatibledevice,runningtheVTterminalemulation,toan
EnterasysNetworksdeviceCOMport(Figure 312),proceedasfollows:
1. ConnecttheRJ45connectoratoneendofthecabletothecommunicationsCOM
(Console)portontheEnterasysNetworksdevice.
2. PlugtheRJ45connectorattheotherendofthecableintoanoptionalRJ45toDB9
adapter.
3. ConnecttheRJ45toDB9adaptertothecommunicationsportontheIBMPC.
4. TurnonthePCandconfigureyourVTemulationpackagewiththeseparameters:
