Handling waste ink

Observe the following when handling the waste ink:

Before using this product, please be sure to read the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). You can download it at your local Epson Web site.

The waste ink from the printer is industrial waste. Proper waste ink disposal in compliance with the industrial waste disposal laws and ordinances of your local government is required. Consign disposal of waste inks to an industrial waste disposer. At this point, please provide the Waste Ink Data Sheet to the industrial waste disposer. You can download it at your local Epson Web site.

The workplace should be free from open flame and well ventilated.

Please handle the ink with care to avoid having the ink come into contact with your skin, eyes, and clothing, also to avoid accidental ingestion.

Be careful not to inhale the vapors.

Please wear a protective mask, eyewear, gloves, long sleeves and long trousers to avoid contact with the ink during the operation.

Work clothes that become soiled with the ink should be thoroughly cleaned.

Please wash your hands and gargle well after disposing of the ink.

Do not bring food near the waste ink.

Please store out of reach of children.

Emergency Measures

If ink sticks to your skin, wash well with plenty of soapy water. Consult your doctor if your skin feels irritated or is discolored.

If it gets in your eyes, flush them immediately with plenty of tap water and see a doctor as soon as possible.

If accidentally swallowed, do not vomit. Consult a doctor as soon as possible.

If you inhaled the vapor, move to clean air and consult a doctor if you feel dizzy or nauseous.

If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration immediately, and call for emergency medical service.

If spilled from the container, remove heat sources, sparks and flame first, then wipe up with a cloth. Used cloths containing ink should be soaked in water until disposal.

Choosing a place for the printer

Observe the following when choosing a place for the printer:

Place the printer on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base of the printer in all directions. The printer will not operate properly if it is tilted or at an angle.

Avoid places subject to rapid changes in temperature and humidity. Also, keep the printer away from direct sunlight, strong light, heat sources, or air conditioner.

Avoid places subject to dust, shocks, or vibrations.

Leave enough room around the printer to allow for sufficient ventilation.

Place the printer near a wall outlet where the power plug can be easily unplugged.
