Printing on Special Paper

In addition to printing on single sheets and continuous paper, your printer can also print on a wide variety of paper types, including multi-part forms, labels, and envelopes.

Before printing on special types of paper, you need to change the paper thickness setting.

WARNING: When printing on multi-part forms, labels, or envelopes, make sure your application program settings keep the printing entirely within the printable area.

For multi-part forms and labels, you should not print any closer than 0.5 inches or 13 mm from either side of the paper.

For information on the printable area for envelopes, see page 2-29.

The paper thickness lever

To accommodate various thicknesses of paper, your printer is equipped with a paper thickness lever that can be set to seven positions. These positions are identified by a scale next to the lever.
