Photographic images look grainy or rough.

Cause What to do
The printing position is
misaligned. Align the print heads with the Print
Head Alignment utility. See “Aligning
the Print Head” on page 8-41.
The resolution of the original
image data or the resolutio n
setting for the image in your
image-editing software may
be too low.
Increase the image resolution in your
image-editing software. Keep in mind
that higher resolution images take
longer to print.
Use of the EPSON PhotoEnhance 2 or
PhotoEnhance feature is
recommended for printing
photographic images. To use this
feature, click the Advanced button
and select PhotoEnhance 2 or
PhotoEnhance from the settings list
on the printer driver’s Main menu
(Windows) or in the Print dialog box
(Macintosh).
Printer utilities

The Status Monitor 2 searches for the printer but cannot find it.

Cause What to do
The printer is turned off. Press the Operate button. The
Operate light will come on.
The interface cable is not
connected properly. Confirm that the cable is fastened to
the printer and the computer securel y .
If your Macintosh has a built-in
modem, connect the interface cable to
the Macintosh’s p rinter port.
